Basics
Finding what you need
1. Start at the Gallery
The Gallery lists published IFML records hosted on Zenodo — scans, photos, datasets, and downloadable packages. Use the search box to filter by species, common name, or keyword.
2. Check the Collection roadmap
The Collection page tracks what has been scanned, processed, or published so far, and what is still in progress.
3. Read the Methods
Methods & Protocols explains how material is captured and processed, useful context for judging what a record is fit for.
4. Use the Software
DART and DART: ChipLab, listed under Software, support tree-ring analysis and woodchip identification from IFML-style scans.
Records
Understanding record types
Access package
A lighter-weight download intended for everyday viewing, teaching, and reference use.
Archival package
Higher-integrity files intended for preservation, closer inspection, and more demanding reuse.
Dataset
Structured metadata or tracking information tied to one or more published records.
Citing IFML materials
Use the individual Zenodo DOI whenever a specific published record exists — see Citations for exact formats. Use the archive-level citation only when referring to the broader project or website.
